Even if I hold down the F2 button while hitting the power switch the machine still freezes.
I could not follow it because when I turn on the machine there is no time to hit the F2 button before the box freezes. I downloaded them and they seem to be running fine. The Dell support guy said the integrated NIC would not run Windows Server 2003, and while it's true that Dell doesn't have the Server 2003 drivers for the NIC on their download site, Intel has the drivers (dated may 2005). And if I can get it all to work I will have about 1K bucks invested, and it will be a significant tool for my small company. On paper the box is plenty robust enough to do the job. I got the box and flatscreen monitor on a Dell special for next to nothing and also manged to get Windows Server 2003 Small Business Server Premium Edition software legally for next to nothing. My goal has been to turn this machine into a modest Windows Server 2003 Small Business Server box. Actually, I'm hoping to use this gigabit NIC to connect to the local area network and use the integrated NIC to connect to my DSL modem.
